SUDDEN DEATH OF MR. LEWIS LIVINGSTON.

It becomes our painful dury this week to chronicle the death of anouther one of the oldest and most respected citizens of McIntosh County, which occurred on Doboy Island on Tuesday morning last. The following are the particulars so far as we can learn from those present: Mr. Livingston came over to Doboy from Sapelo with the intention of coming to Darien on the steamer. While on the wharf at Doboy in conversation with Mr. William C. Wylly, Capt. Burke Spalding, and others, Mr. Livingston suddenly fell, but before he reached the ground Mr. Wylly caught him and was assisting him to a resting place when re remarked that he would "be all right and would soon rally; that it was nothing but asthma;" but in about two minutes from the first attack he was dead. It is thought he died from heart disease. His death was seemingly painless and without a struggle whatever.

The remains of Mr. Livingston were brought to the city on Tuesday afternoon on the steramer Sapelo, and carried to the residence of his son-in-law, Dr. Spalding Kenan. On Wednesday afternoon the remains were interred in the Episcopal Cemetery from the Methodist Church of this city, the Rev. Samuel J. Pinkerton, officiating.

Mr. Livingston was recently appointed by Governor Colquitt, Justice of the Peace for Doboy Island, and just before his death he was engaged in the discharge of his duties as such. The deceased was in his 69th year. Mr. Livingston was highly respected and esteemed, and his many friends and admirers in this and other sections of the State, will hear with regret of his sudden demise. The deceased leaves a wife, several children, and many reltives, to mourn his death. The bereaved family have our sympathies.
