TO BE HUNG.

A negro girl, belonging to James Hays, Esq., of Thomas County, convicted of the murder of his infant son, is sentenced to be hung at Thomasville, Ga., on the 30th instant.

LEGAL NOTICES.

Georgia, Sumter County: Will be sold before the Court House door in said county on the first Tuesday in August, next, between the legal hours of sale, all the property belonging to the estate of Allen Dorman, late of said county, deceased. Sold for the benefit of the heirs and creditors of said estate. (Signed) L. P. Dorman, Adm.

BAKER SHERIFF'S SALE.

Georgia, Baker County: Sheriff Sales--On the first Tuesday in June next, will be sold at the courthouse in the town of Newton, Baker County, within the usual hours of sale, the following property, to wit:

One negro man...levied on as the property of Pricilla Strozier, to satisfy executions or fi fas in favor of Stovall, Simmons & Co.; pointed out by P. J. Strozier; also

One house and lot in Newton, now occupied by H. B. Gunnison, levied on as the property of Robert Hardie, to satisfy executions or fi fas in favor of J. G. Johnson; also

Two negro slaves...levied on as the property of William Henderson, to satisfy executions or fi fas in favor of James Clark; also

5 negro slaves...levied on as the property of L. B. Skaggs, to satisfy executions or fi fas in favor of John Matlock; G. W. Pearce, security.

 DEATH HAS BEEN IN OUR MIDST!

Dr. W. B. Ector, late a proprietor and editor of this paper, is no more. He is gone and has left upon earth no better man. This is indeed a consolation to his bereaved wife, his children and friends.

Dr. Ector was buried with Masonic honors, and every demonstration of sincere regard was abundantly manifested.--Columbus Enquirer.
